COVID 19 Due to the current circumstances our courses will run as follows:
Before entering the premises as well as leaving Sanitiser will need to be used.
Antibacterial wipes to be used wherever people use any shared areas / equipment etc.
Sanitiser will be compulsory as well as handwashing when using toilet facilities etc.
A distance of 1-2m will be observed at all times.
If someone has signs or symptoms they are not allowed to attend and will need to isolate themselves from the class for two weeks.
If someone has a serious illness or condition and is considered high risk they are entering the course at their own risk and the actors café will not be held responsible even if masks are worn.
In light of recent events, if an outbreak was to occur and lock down was to be reinstalled then we would continue the classes online. Depending on the amount of sessions left in the term you would get a percentage of that transferred on to our next term dates (only if you carry on to the next term). By signing this you take full responsibility of your health and safety and are agreeing to not put you or anyone else at risk.
Attendance Before each session you will be contacted via email up to 24 hours before the session to confirm your attendance. You must confirm that you are attending each session in response to each email. If you cannot attend a session you will need to give us at least 24 hours notice via email or text. It is important that you contact us if you can’t make a session, as each session is planned around every students commitment. If you miss a session, you may make up for it by attending another class time. However, we cannot guarantee that we will have space in every session to accommodate absences. Therefore, we strongly advise attending the course as much as possible during your set weekly allocated class time.
Punctuality Each student is expected to arrive 10 minutes before the session to allow time for a prompt start. This time also allows you time to practice any work beforehand and to get to know the group. Be aware that you are expected to arrive at any professional acting job 15 mins ahead of schedule, so it’s good to get into good habits for the industry! The Actors Cafe is often asked for recommendations for actors/students for acting projects, so please give yourself the best opportunity by showing your professionalism by arriving on time - those that make a habit of being late may not be considered for such opportunities.
Fees All payments made to the Actors Cafe are non refundable. - Course deposit is £50. The deposit secures your place on the course until the next course fee is due. Once your deposit is paid your next course fee (one full payment or first split payment) is due 14 days before the course start date. If you do not pay your next course fee by this time then you may lose your place on the course. If you are applying to the course within the 14 day period, then you will need to pay the course in full immediately or transfer the first split payment to secure your space. - Second split payments must be paid before the 7th session of the term. If you decide not to take the second half of the course, your second split payment is still due - this is because the overall running of the course is dependent on students’ full course payments. Any single sessions you miss cannot be refunded or carried forward onto the next term.
Please carefully read and sign the ‘Payment agreement below.

Photo/video permission During the course you may have the occasional photo/video taken during your rehearsal process, which may be used for our website and social media. This may benefit the student as we have industry professionals who look at our website and social media who may want to work with the student based on who they see. As most are happy for usage to go out on social media, we assume that you agree unless you let us know otherwise. Please let us know before your next session if you do not want us to use any photos or videos of you on social media.
Health/ Medical In order to help your acting progress, you will be invited to take part in exploring your emotional psychology for use in your work. Some sessions you will be expected to join in with some physical exercises/movements or games and take part in activities that explore your emotional self.
It is very important that you let us know of any medical conditions, including mental health conditions, allergies etc - which may affect you during the sessions. In response to this information you are agreeing that you are medically fit enough to take part, or if you do have a health condition - that your doctor has advised that you are fit and able enough to take part in such activities.
It is also very important that you make us aware, before the start of your term, of any learning difficulties or disabilities, as we want you to make the most of this experience and not be held back due to this. If you do not inform us of any conditions or disabilities then we will not be held responsible for any misunderstandings and you will take full responsibility for your learning or may be asked to leave or move to a different class.
Tutor Attendance As you are aware, the tutors on the course are working professionals from the industry. Due to the unpredictable nature of the acting industry, tutors may be called at short notice to work. In such instances an alternative acting tutor will be provided as cover for you. In the very rare case that no acting tutor can cover a single session, you may be invited to rehearse your scenes under the guidance of a designated member of the group. In an extreme case where a session may have to be cancelled, an alternative session will be offered to you.
Visiting Professionals (Advanced Course Only) With every term the Actors Cafe sees visits from one or more visiting industry professionals such as a casting director, film director, actor, agent etc. As visiting professionals are working in the acting industry their schedules can suddenly draw them away from planned arrangements. The actors cafe has always been successful in seeing industry guests visit, but due to the nature of their schedules we cannot 100% guarantee their appearance. Please note that some industry guest sessions are by invite only, this is to benefit the student as well as the relationships that the actors cafe has with its visiting professionals - it’s not beneficial for the student or for the actors cafe for all students to perform in front of industry guests if they are not yet at a level to do so.
